Crafting Perception

I hold vision in one hand, process in the other.
That balance came from years of practice. Mentors, colleagues, and a lot of projects taught me how to channel a naturally creative mind into something methodical enough to finish things and finish them well. The instinct shows up early, in how I read a brand or a brief. The method shows up everywhere else.
I connect easily with people and tend to understand what they're after pretty quickly. That makes the work go smoothly in both directions — with the audience the work is trying to reach, and with the clients and partners I'm collaborating with.
I spend very little energy on "problem." I’m more interested in opportunity – what's next, what’s possible. Every project is an adventure and every constriction is an expansion waiting its turn.
Beyond the joy of creative projects I find inspiration in nature, studying origin stories and ancient cultures, making big paintings and adventuring in the Sierras with my son.
I love to laugh, cook, eat, draw, sit in the sun, hug the trees, walk slow, run fast, travel, stay put, and feel it all.
